Lower Blood Pressure Naturally

Lightheaded/dizziness, Headaches, Vomiting, Anxiety, Fluctuation in weight, Skin rashes, Fatigue, Constipation, Diarrhea, Chest pain, Flu symptoms…

Medications that lower blood pressure can come with an array of side effects, but there are other ways to lower blood pressure that don’t require a prescription.

Considerable research has shown that garlic can lower elevated blood pressure and has many other useful properties. It thins the blood slightly, improves blood flow through arteries, prevents and even reverses atherosclerosis, stops arrhythmias, and protects brain cells. Also, as a powerful antioxidant it significantly lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke. It even has strong anti-cancer effects.

Aged garlic extract is different in that it is specially aged for up to a year after being extracted and concentrated. It is the most commonly used form of garlic in experimental studies. Because garlic slightly thins the blood at a level equal to taking one aspirin a day, you should not take it with other blood-thinning medications. (It’s also a good idea to make sure you are not allergic to garlic before consuming it.)

Chiropractic has been proven to lower blood pressure. Injury to the Atlas vertebra (C1) can affect blood flow in the arteries at the base of the skull. Research also suggests that a misaligned Atlas triggers release of signals that make the arteries contract. An adjustment of C1 can significantly lower high blood pressure (This adjustment has the effect of not one, but two blood-pressure medications given in combination). Read the research at WebMD.

The following are recommended ways to lower blood pressure naturally:

  • Lose weight through exercise and diet.
  • Avoid smoking.
  • Have spine checked by Chiropractor (Misaligned C1 vertebrae can raise blood pressure).
  • Avoid pesticides and heavy metals (Lead and cadmium raise blood pressure).
  • Take Vitamin C between meals and at bedtime.
  • Take curcumin, quercetin, and ellagic acid(pomegranate extract).
  • Get eight hours of restful sleep.
  • Avoid prolonged, intense stress.
  • Eat a banana every day (they’re high in potassium, which lowers blood pressure).
  • Eat lots of fruits and vegetables every day.
  • Avoid sugars (especially high-fructose corn syrup).

The bad news is that this will require a bit more work than popping a pill. But I think as a society we are all beginning to realized that taking short cuts with your health simply does not work. Plus, there is good news. By implementing these strategies on a daily basis, you will not only help normalize your blood pressure – your overall health will improve dramatically.
